Hi chaps.
After a slow-motion accident yesterday when my 1987 90 ended up on its side, and the only option to upright it was to drag it 50yds down a lane on ice, it has become apparent that the driver's side door pillar is mainly made of painted body-filler (b*******), so it'll need replacing.

So, has anyone successfully welded on replacement door pillars, like these ones?

Since I guess it'll be a bulkhead-out job, I'll do it at the same time as replacing the front outriggers, which have small rust holes in them.

it would most likely be just as easy with t' bulkhead on the landy, take the wing and door off and support the bulkhead at the hight it is now then cut the old pillar off and weld the new one on

And here, have a laugh at my expense:

I did. :D

like g-man says probably easier leaving it on to do the pillar repair to keep alignment, but its a pain in the ass gerrin all the spotwelds drilled out:D

About 7mph, sheet ice under thin snow, fairly steep decline, 1st gear Hi, came off the throttle a tad too briskly for the decline and within yards was sideways and bounced off the verge.
All very slow and rubbish, crash wise.

The mother-in-law, who was in the back, was unimpressed.
