HI All.
and after some great advice on here regarding brakes and drive-shaft issues, a bit of frippary....!
We have a car stereo that has USb and Aux capability and want to connect our I-Phones to it so that we can receive calls hands free, but also make calls to 2 or 3 specific numbers.

Any suggestions of what we should look at will be gratefully received.

In return, if you are a new Freelander owner and are worried about the VCU and differential juddering at times, we can totally recommend all 4 tyres being replaced at the same time. The difference has been staggering!

If the head unit advertising indicates it's iPhone compatible then it should see your phone/s. I think you can only 'tether' one phone at any one time. Activate bluetooth in the phone. Check the head unit instructions to see how to tether a phone. I have a Sony b'tooth, USB, Aux type unit. It sees my iPhone and calls, music, txt notifications ... come through - really easy!

I think making a call hands free is a bit more complicated though unless your radio has speech recognition. I had this in a Honda Civic a few years ago but it couldn't understand my Brummie accent. I would end up shouting at it and giving it some right verbal.

I'm only aware of head units tethering one phone at time but as long as it has Bluetooth surely Siri will dial contacts from your phone book along with all its other features, read texts, mail and whats app etc.

Problem solved as the head unit wasn't Bluetooth compatible, but the Parrot Minikit Neo 2 HD has ticked every box.

Thanks for the info folks.
