Handbrake system problem.
DBT park brake efficiency 56% according to the MOT.

First when the brake was applied the car would move as if it wasn't applied at all except for reverse gear in which it holds the vehicle, I took the car last week before the MOT to someone, he looked at it and did something, he said that I need to give it couple of days and it should be ok... it's a kind of working somehow now, but I can still feel that there is something wrong with the handle, also the car moves a bit, so it's not that tight I think, this is why it was spotted on the MOT station, I also noticed that the car is not pulling like before, does it suggest that the mechanic might have tightened the cable or whatever up to the max just to get the problem fixed...?

I'd love to know what type of fix takes a couple of days before it works:rolleyes:

They have probably removed/refitted the shoes and are waiting for the automatic adjusters to do their stuff. However when I did this to my car, the adjusters did not work and I had to do it manually, and then I had to adjust the cables but it works really well now.

I am more interested in how they measured the efficiency anyway on a permanent 4 wheel drive vehicle?
