I know that the rear brakes on Freelanders can be prone to rusting up etc when left.

I want to leave either my BMW 3 series (in the Winter) or Freelander (in the Summer) parked up when not in use, maybe for a couple of weeks at a time.

I dont want issues with the brakes etc rusting on.

Problem is that I have a steep driveway and no flat space.

I have 2 pairs of horse box / caravan wheel chocks.

Should I just put a set behind/infornt of both sets of wheels on the parked vehicle, then leave in gear and NOT apply the hand brake??

What do you folks with more experience think?

Most owners of classic vehicles which are only run occaisionally will store them with the handbrake off.

Chocks are the best option although a friend with an old MG has set two paving blocks in the ground and rolls back on to them when parking. If its unmade ground I have seen caravan levellers use as they keep the tyres off the ground and can be double chocked.
