Gents, the engine in my 110 isn't sounding as smooth as I would like - any thoughts on what this might be:

Or am I worrying for nothing?

Any advice - greatfully recived

Have a listen with a large screwdriver to your ear touching different parts of engine starting with rocker cover, could be tappets .
Try loosening one injector at a pipe at a time to see if all firing correctly if one does not change speed / sound then it has a problem.
A loose hotspot could also contributeto the noise.

Thanks chaps - did the tappets a while back - may double check to see if they've moved - injectors appear all fine.

What would be a loose hotspot?

Cheers

In the cylinder head there is some hotspots designed to help ignite the diesel in indirect injection engine pic attached of 15J version the circle with pop marks around it just below the valves.
