Give me your thoughts..

I have a 1991 110, ex-police land rover, 2.8tdi Isuzu engine, 2" decarbon lift kit, some other really fandoosh bits, fairly straight for age.. but...

1. Its really becoming a bit of a money pit, because I don't have the skills to maintain it myself, so while the parts are cheap, garage bills aint.

2. Its got a nasty tendency to Veer off and wander over 40mph, not good as my main car.

So... Was thinking of getting a shiny new 110 utility County on a lease through my company this is my dilema...

Should I sell the old one or... use the scrap scheme currently running. On any other car I would say yea, take it and scrap it. But I feel a duty to help keep it on the road, or at least make sure it went to a good home... I must be going soft, but I know there is plenty of enthusiasts who would be able to eek a few more years out of it.

Questions...

1. You reckon I can get a few quid for it?

2. Whats the thoughts on the latest Defender, thought the inside was a bit cramped, even compared to my old one, but have not driven it yet.

The wandering could be a simple job like swivel pin bearing adjustment... my answer would be... it's nice to have something new, but it will be even more expensive to service etc and not so easy to DIY... get into RAVE and learn a new skill called 'fix it yerself'... I did and it's easier than you might think. Good luck which ever way you go.
