I like G-Wagons :p

Me too!
If this does not inspire you to get out and do it I don;t know what will.
I emailed the Photographer, and asked if there is a book or similar.
He is hoping to work with Gunter to make a book.
I tell you I feel the wanderlust a building!

Here's a wee update:
Gunter is making his way back from Vietnam and is due in German by the end of the year where his intention is to write a book about over population. The photographer is hoping to travel back with Gunter to chronicle the man and his trip.

Mercedes have already asked if they can have the vehicle for the museum in Stuttgart!
It will make one hell of a coffee table book.

Hi,
He was a senior person (just below board level) Lufthansa, he took early retirement when the Berlin wall came down. Speaking to the Photographer, he uses his pension and the rental income off his family home. He lives very frugally with a set and separate budgets for food, fuel, and parts. Most of his expense is moving from country to country by ship.

I don't think he could be classed as wealthy but he certainly was not poor to start with.

I don't know if he ever had kids but I'll ask.

C
