Receny went through a deep section of very muddy water, got very stuck.

However after getting out I had the red battery light come on and wont go off. I'm pretty certain the alternator is full of gunk and muck preventing it from working correctly. Its coming out soon for cleaning hopefully that will solve the issue.

Either way i was looking at it and its very 'open' very easy for muck to get in there and stuck. One of the chaps I was with mentioned wrapping it in pond lining would keepnall the flith out and keep it working.

Anyone support this or have a better idea?

I use a rad muff to stop both my rad and alternator getting clogged. No good if you are stuck in thick glop though. It just keeps the crud out as much as possible when driving through it. It can be a pita keep opening and closing it though.
