I've got a 2003 BMW 325xi as my primary vehicle, but it's seeing increased
mileage of late - and I'd like to do two things:

1. Level the mileage off a bit;
2. Pick up a second vehicle for hauling around yard supplies and driving
out on an ocean sand beach in my new town, where it is allowed.

I've been debating my options. I love the 4Runner, but see it as a
high-cost alternative - one where I would like have to trade the BMW and
again have one vehicle, also racking up mileage. Other alternatives I've
considered include a new Kia Sorrento or Ford Escape - but would these be
competent enough to keep me from getting stuck on the beach? Another idea
was a used PathFinder - seems like many on the road and would likely be more
competent off road as well.

Your comments and feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
-Dave

any of those should do you fine. just make sure that you AIR DOWN YOUR
TIRES when you go on the beach. and if you start to get stuck and stop
moving forward dont lay on the gas peddal. you will just dig your self a
hole. driving in sand can be a bit difficult but if handled right and
with a light foot its not too bad.

A good dune buggy. Something you can douche out with a power washer
and allow to dry when it gets under the salt/muddy water. An original
Meyers Manx for style, a commodity tube frame (with fittings for oil
sprayout) for convenience.
