Hi everyone, just joined the forum and thought it polite to say hello.

I have a 1956 series 1, which I bought in 1999, restored it, sold it then bought it back a couple of years later.

I also have a P38 TD which I bought last year, it has a few issues which is why I joined:D

I've had the 4 poster for 8 yrs but only put it in last summer so I could drop the gearbox out the P38 and replace the clutch fork pins.

Cheers for now

Thank you, I've just soiled my trousers... :D:bolt:

Bonjour!

Where in Normandy are you? (Don't be too specific, you don't want everyone to know where that lovely S1 is!. Just wondered, as I had a holiday there a few years ago near St. Mere L'Eglise.

Know what you mean bro. Had to do the IRD in me Freelander, so dusted off the old trolly jack.

Where is that envy icon...

What a cracking S1, now I really need that fecking icon....

Bonjoowa.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I'm about an hour and a half (longer in the S1!) further south than Sainte-Mère-Église.

I will never part with the S1 again, its sooo lovely to drive, especially in the summer or the snow!

It was a sympathetic resto using as many original parts as poss. i.e chassis, bulkhead, body, engine (rebuilt)etc are all original, its a far cry from when I first bought it out of someones front garden filled with rubbish back in 1999.

The only non-standard bits are a webber carb, radial tyres and a fairy o/d.

The P38 is another story, it drives great but has a very noisy topend, tappets and/or cam maybe??? May look for another lump to drop in.

Cheers
Stu
