Went to totternhoe to try and find the open byways.couldn't find any except loads of closed ones.thought drovers way was open but couldn't find it.anyone know how to find this and the other 2 that should be open

My thoughts would be that the term 'footway' tends to mark it down as just that, although never having been that way I don't know.
One of those times when a trip to the RoW office is in order.
There is only one non-PTRO in the Totternhoe area and that is conveniently cut off by other PTRO's.

There are no byways open to four whell vehicles at totternhoe. There is one that is open to motorcycles on the road from Dunstable down the hill but I think that even that one os seasonal.

The other byways are all closed, though you may sometimes see members of the local landy club using them. This is because those byways actually cut across their land and they use them for accessing areas on whicj they hold their own local events.
