Hi my name is Dale, I'm 26 and I am from Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.

I used to own a Series 90 which I used at Yarwell a few times, but I sold that a little while ago.

I have just brough myself my first Discovery. It is a 2004 Discovery 2 TD5 Landmark in dark blue and it's lovely.

So far I have fitted a private plate, four 255/55/18 General Grabber AT2's which look amazing! I've removed the EGR valve and fitted wind deflectors.

I have been busy getting the car up to a very clean standard and fixing all the normal little niggles that they come with. I have also had the major service done with brakes etc.

Two quick questions I have if anyone has the time to answer them are;

1. I want to fit a snorkel to it, I am averaging 27.4 MPG at the moment, is the snorkel likely to affect this by much?

2. There is a bulb out on the instrument cluster, I have heard this is a bit of a pain to replace, can anyone help with some instructions and what not so I can attempt this on Saturday... Also I will be on my own so is this a one man job???

I'll be doing this along side replacing the gear lever bias springs and plate, replacing the O/S/R door check strap and fitting a bluetooth kit so plenty to keep me busy.

I'll try and get a pic up later if I get the chance, but feel free to say hello and any advice would be grately appreciated!

Regards,

Dale

Bulb Easyish Lower the steering colume you will now see 2 screws in the front of binicle where the steering wheel is undo do these.

I then unplugged all the switches making not of colour and what switch it went to. you wil have to wiggel the binicle to release 2 spring clips that hold the back in place. once off Look at the instrument cluster at the top both sides is a phillips/hex screw undothese lift the cluster upwards then you should see the multiplug for the lights unplug then you can look at the back of the cluster to see the bulbs each bulb are in their own holder.
if like mine there will be a sleeve over the bulb to give it that slighty bluish colour

they are the little push in type bulb

hth did mine in my lunch hour

Here's a pic, hopefully the next pics I take it wont be this clean!

Dear DH04MUD

You need to be careful, DH04MUD, putting pictures up of your landrover, DH04MUD, with the numberplate showing, so you do DH04MUD - i've heard, DH04MUD, that people have been known (yes, really, DH04MUD) to clone vehicles where the numberplate is immediately commensurate to the vehicle, so i have DH04MUD,

You should therefore try and refrain, DH04MUD, from publicising your numberplate, DH04MUD, on public forums.

Good luck with that DH04MUD!!!

sorry did I miss something in the name and picture oddie ?

No, i don't think so, i was just doing my good samaritan bit to DH04MUD to try and warn him not to put his numberplate up on the public internet. I'm sure DH04MUD (or anyone else) wouldn't be that silly though - it would be almost as silly as using your email address as a username!!!:D:D

Oddie I appreciate your concern and you're dead right and I feel a **** for even doing it... can you ammend your posts not to say it etc and I have asked for my user name to be changed, thank you again. Dale

You've got 8 posts...just delete each post and then your account and start a new one...

or alternatively...

Get a private plate and change it on your landy. Change your name by deed poll to DH04MUD. Kill your entire family and wipe out anyone who has ever known you as Dale H. Create a whole new identity for yourself and move to a different part of the country. Bob's yer uncle!!!

Only kiddin mate, everyone on here rants about showing your number plate but it is highly unlikely to ever come to anything - there are plenty of them on the roads!
