Hi

My 1999 2.5 DT has today developed what I hope is a minor issue, appears that glow plugs are not working, engine will start after lots turning over, dash board glow plug warning light does not light up when ignition turned on. Once engine is warm starting is instant. This vehicle has stood unused for about 18 months, although everything was ok when battery put on and vehicle taken for MOT two days ago.

If anyone can point me in right direction, it will be much appreciated.

check all the connections around the heater timer on the bulkhead etc

Thanks for that, will check this morning. Anyone got any other ideas that may help?

If it's a P38 plug timer is in ECU box behind battery. Not on bulkhead.

Engine temperature sensor is a possibility, the glowplugs & light do not come on when engine is hot, so if the sensor fails the ECU may think the engine is hot.
