I have checked the forum but cannoy find the answer.

After some start problems I changed the glow plugs and now is a lot better.

I have now found out that I could have cleaned out the glow plug ports in the engine block. I have seen some cleaning tools advertised but they come in different thread sizes.

Does any one know the correct thread size?

cheers.

I have only seen reamers before ahw dose thread size help you? It looks like m10 1mm thread but that is by eye as don't have no calipers

I assume that the tool (the reamer?) screws into where the glow plug would be.

Sykes Pickavent give three size options.

01730800 - M8 x 1.0 Thread
01730900 - M9 x 1.0 Thread
01731000 - M10 x 1.0 / M10 x 1.25 Thread.

Dont bother , get an old glow plug and a 0.8mm cutting disk for your angle grinder and cut 3 of 4 lines across the threads of an old plug and equel spaces avoiding the start thread .
Cut off the tip of the plug too .

hey presto - a glow plug thread chaser :D works a treat so theres no 2nd guessing thread sizes .......

:D
