Hi I have a 300 tdi 90 with a full width Jerremy Ferne intercooler fitted. Kenlowe dual stage single fan. When towing my CCV trialler the temp goes up to 100 degrees (non standard gauge) I have confirmed this temp using a digital IR gauge. This ocurs mainly on climbs and then drops back to about 80/90. Should I be concerned. My previous tow car was 300tdi disco and temp always remained constantin the 'normal' on gauge.. Could i fit a bigger rad now the standard intercooler is not there? I tried 'water wetter' and it was a waste of money. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your rad is either plugged with mud/dirt on the out side or the inside is plugged . When was the last time you flushed the rad and changed coolant? Also could be thermostat. My guess is a good flushing would be the first to do with new coolant

You say bigger intercooler , have you adjusted pump to boost power ? do you have a egt guage ? as above sounds like your rad doesnt have the spare cooling capacity , a 300tdi rad can handle 45C running at 7.5 tonnes without probs (done it regularly in australia ) HTSH
