Been looking this up quite a bit as it interests me. Hydraulic lifters/tappets for the Rover V8.
So obviously when something goes wrong people complain about things and you don't really hear about the things that went well or didn't fail - unless someone specifically mentions it.
Again, obviously genuine hydraulic lifters are the best way to go but as I said above, it interests me. There are countless threads online with noisy tappets/lifters and the advice is to use genuine ones.
But there's part of me that says, is there anyone out there that has had a good experience with non-genuine tappets? There has to be?
That and if you bought non genuine lifters and they were noisy what would be the result of going back to the supplier and telling them they're faulty... get new sets until you get a good set? Is there such a thing as non-faulty non-genuine Rover V8 tappets?
