Since we bought this incredibly straight and genuine Discovery it has never pulled right. (I should add this vehicle stood for 2 years).
We changed the distributor cap, spark plugs and all leads and it isnt any better.
So then we started to approach things more...er....simply.
We pulled the plug leads of the cylinders one by one and found 2 where the engine note didnt drop at all, closer inspection of these plugs showed them to be absolutely clean and dry (all other showed some signs of functioning). Additionaly we tested these plugs out of the engine and they appeared to spark strongly.
(embarrassinlgy) Dont know the cylinder numbers) but they were the drivers side front 2 (somebody educate me). We then suspected electrics to the injectors or injectors themselves. So we took off an injector lead off a working cylinder and put it on one of the none working cylinders.......no improvement, however putting one of the leads off a none working cylinder onto a working cylinder, and it continued to run normally.
This all leads us to think that the injectors must be at fault.
Questions;
Does that sound like a reasonable conclusion?
Do the injectors ever fail?
Where should we go to get 2 more injectors?
Your help appreciated
