hello i went to the lro spring show and b4 i went put my wading plugs in and noticed that wen i was doing the gear box one the plug seem to fall out !!!

the thread was knacked to say the least !! just a couple to start it thats it !!

so i though if i get a plug that is a bit longer it will sit in ?? it seemed a bit stronger and felt quite secure !!!

but clean underneath the other day and it was gone :(

how would you recify this problem ???

cheers

Drill a bigger hole and re-tap thread and then use a bigger plug, Drill and retap and then fit a heli-coil or Use a chemical metal or liquid metal to rebuild the metal and then re-tap. The first 2 are the prefered methods.

Might have seen you there without even knowing!

Drill bigger hole, retap and use bigger bolt as Ratty has said - less of a faff on than helicoil (and most likely cheaper) and alot more reliable than chemical metal etc...
