hi
We have just returned from a 3 week holiday round france, 1st week in our 110 v8 csw and then 2 weeks in a plesently air conditioned but bland opel people carrier. This was due to our landy blowing first its over drive on the autoroute with much smoke and noise and then losing all forward motion, due to the transfer box following the overdrive into retirement.
The landy has the original 4-speed LT95 integrated gearbox/transfer box and as I will have to replace/rebuild it now plus the the same for the overdrive I am thinking that this may be a moment to consider changing to the "Santana" 5-speed gearbox and seperate transfer box. Has anyone done such a swap?, How hard is it?, what other parts need changing? Or should I just get a rebuilt LT95 box.

By the way I can whole heartedly reccomend the RAC euro insureance, very helpful, had people who knew about landy probs, provided accomodation when needed and hire cars for the rest of the hol and all the way home to Oxford, no quibble.

Regards

Mark

If you've replaced the blown overdrive - don't suppose you would want to get rid of the linkage ? I've been after one for ages ?
