This is my problem jumps out of 4th gear feels like it has a tooth missing.
How hard is it to rebuild the gearbox and where would i get the parts where is the numbers printed on my gearbox its a series 3 2.5 n/a 1976.

All help thankfully recived.:(

Number should be on edge of transfer case by high low detent brass plug.
Which way are the bolts holding the reverse transfer gate that stops you selecting reverse by accident ie two horizntal or two vertical.

Not that hard to rebuild following the manual. Most parts available but in variable quality.

4th is direct drive so I would gues that jumping out indicates a problem with the 3/4 sychro unit or the selector fork/detents or springs etc.

And it works a treat!!

Im really pleased to hear that mate :D! Although I didnt have to replace any gears so it was just bearings, synchro springs, distance piece, detent balls and springs, gaskets and seals and reseal of mainshaft. It was quite a simple job in that sense. I think if gears need replacing it takes a bit more setting up.
