Hi,,can someone tell me the correct gearbox oil to use in a 1987 landrover 90 2.5 td 19j engine thank you

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the R380 started as ATF Dex 11 then changed to MTF94 when Rover went in with Honda as it was a joint venture between them.
Yours I believe is a LT77 and I' not sure what that is - James Martin will know.

Is the same stuff. It confussed people as they said it was for auto transmissions, so to stop the unthinking, they removed the A from ATF and exchanged it for M to MTF so people would not be so thick headed

or AQF

Okay will re-word, use red coloured oil

MTF94 was introduced / specified later, but is fine for all LT77 & R380 boxes.
