Hi, battery was low, car has been sitting unused for a few weeks, got the charger on it now..First check is always the battery voltage. Low volts throws all manner of faults.
If the battery went too low, it may not recover. Good luck.Hi, battery was low, car has been sitting unused for a few weeks, got the charger on it now..
Thanks Datatek

Good shout Keith. If the battery went too low, it may not recover. Good luck.
Makes no odds, the ECU's in general are not tolerant of low voltage even if it's enough to crank the engine.Hi, it's a new Exide battery only a couple of months old, car started fine, engine turned over normally ..not sluggish or anything...just ran full diagnostics, the only other thing I got was ventilation related below,
MerciGood shout Keith.
Da nadaMerci
One other thought, if you bought a battery from the likes of Halfords, it's quite likely the wrong size, their charts always seem to show a lower than needed AH and CCA.Ok Datatek, will charge the battery overnight and check in the morning...your right, I know this too...to much electronics and as you say low voltage causes issues ..

Exide is just a name now owned by Rajan Raheja Group, headquartered in Kolkata, India. It is the largest manufacturer of automotive and industrial lead-acid batteries in India and fourth largest in the world. so probably made in India.I'm pretty sure it's a 95 amp hour battery, I bought it online, I've got the exact same battery in my other Rover too, i like exide, ..decent quality in my opinion ...
Spain or maybe Portugal if made in the EU. Apparently the whole battery operation is up for sale.Maybe EU Manufactured...

I have 2 Varta batteries, one new one that came with my project P38 and a new D59 one I bought that is on my 13hp tractor. Neither will start their vehicles in cold weather unless I keep them on charge. You pay a good bit extra for big name brands. Hankook do me, I have 4 of them, 2 in the Transit, 1 in my P38 daily driver, one in the ride on mower. Good price and very reliable, in fact the one in the ride on mower is the first battery I have had in 20 years that does not need charging over winter and it has now done 4 winters.I used to buy Varta, bought those for years and even got a free battery off them once as where I lived all I could get locally was a Banner battery, didn't fancy that so called up their head office and explained that I had Varta Batteries for years and csnt buy one...couple of days later a brand new Varta Battery turned up...FOC ...good service from the Varta guys...
