Makes no odds, the ECU's in general are not tolerant of low voltage even if it's enough to crank the engine.
Modern Lead Calcium batteries do not like being left in a state of low charge for any length of time.

Ok Datatek, will charge the battery overnight and check in the morning...your right, I know this too...to much electronics and as you say low voltage causes issues ..

There is a range rover up for sale near me, its tidy but it's got an issue with the gearbox, it's an odd one the fault code according to the seller is 3b01h/ 15105...he reckons it's the motor on the transfer box although he says it still changes from high to low and back ok...I had better not buy it, I have 2 already but always looking hehe..

One other thought, if you bought a battery from the likes of Halfords, it's quite likely the wrong size, their charts always seem to show a lower than needed AH and CCA.

I'm pretty sure it's a 95 amp hour battery, I bought it online, I've got the exact same battery in my other Rover too, i like exide, ..decent quality in my opinion ...

Exide is just a name now owned by Rajan Raheja Group, headquartered in Kolkata, India. It is the largest manufacturer of automotive and industrial lead-acid batteries in India and fourth largest in the world. so probably made in India.

Spain or maybe Portugal if made in the EU. Apparently the whole battery operation is up for sale.

I used to buy Varta, bought those for years and even got a free battery off them once as where I lived all I could get locally was a Banner battery, didn't fancy that so called up their head office and explained that I had Varta Batteries for years and csnt buy one...couple of days later a brand new Varta Battery turned up...FOC ...good service from the Varta guys...

I've got an old e39 BMW, put in an Exide battery 5 years ago, still going strong, I kinda swapped over to Exide after I bought a new BMW, it came with an Exide battery, plus I was at a trade fair last year and spoke to Exide, they explained their manufacturing process over other battery brands, to be honest I've never had a bad Exide battery, on.my BMW 1150rt motorcycle the original Exide battery lasted about 13 years ...not bad and I changed it for another exide battery about 5 years ago or so and it's still going strong..

I have 2 Varta batteries, one new one that came with my project P38 and a new D59 one I bought that is on my 13hp tractor. Neither will start their vehicles in cold weather unless I keep them on charge. You pay a good bit extra for big name brands. Hankook do me, I have 4 of them, 2 in the Transit, 1 in my P38 daily driver, one in the ride on mower. Good price and very reliable, in fact the one in the ride on mower is the first battery I have had in 20 years that does not need charging over winter and it has now done 4 winters.
