Hi I'm another total newbie to forums but here goes.
I've got a '96 defender 90 that I bought from my neighbour who bought it when it was 6months old. I've had the truck for 3 years now and love it. Its coming up for MOT time and was wondering if anyone could recommend a nearby(ish) garage. I always use the same guy for MOT but am still looking round for a good independent garage. Any recommendations? I live near Cirencester. Also will be wanting to sell at some point as I want to buy/exchange for a 110. (to convert to camper) Hoping I might be able to do through this forum also?

If you've had it for 3 years, where did you get it mot'd before and why not use them again. You don't need to use a 4x4 specialist for mot's. Welcome to Landyzone.

Hi Thanks to you both for welcome.
apols, for lack of clarity in my first post.
What I was trying to say was that there is garage that I always use for my MOTs - but MOTs is all they do. I will stick with them for this.
However I have had the Landy 3 years now and taken it to an assortment of garages for repairs but they have not turned out to be very reliable or keen to take on the work. I was hoping that there maybe a garage near me (Cirencester) that could be recommended. Thanks.

Welcome. Any more info on you and your vehicle? This is the Introduce Yourself forum, after all. :) Try looking in the Regional LZers forum, see if there's anyone near you. Also , it is not really on, in your first post to mention you're here to sell. It gets backs up quite quickly, as we are a community, not a swap meet ;)
Good luck with your MoT, hope you manage to find somewhere. If no joy in Regional, maybe try good old goooooogle, and look for Land Rover specialist in your area. You might be lucky.

Failing that, ask a local farmer if he can recommend anyone, there must be plenty of farms around Cirencester. Many ordinary car repair places shy away from landrovers cos they can't just plug summat in to tell them what's wrong.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Will follow up. With regard to diagnostic plug in, I think you are right Col, it could be why garages seem to hate my truck. But I really like the fact that my landy is old school with no computer chips to go wrong. Big apologies for my lack of etiquette re swap/sell. R

Hi Knappster, Brilliant! thanks for the info. I've looked up JC4x4 and they are only a 30 minute (ish) drive away. They have great reviews too! I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. R

James did a great job in the time stated for a very fair price. He also provided a courtesy car. Will use from now on. thanks again.
