Haven’t even got round to fixing last week’s problems yet! Now the indicators are blowing the fuse, grrrrrr. First fuse (indicator & gauges) blew after using the indicator (not sure which direction), so I replaced it and seemed to work for a while. Then, travelling down the road it happened again when I wanted to go left, I bunged the hazards on as there was a car behind approaching quickly. This time the hazard light fuse melted and nearly caught fire. Great.
I’ve checked the indicators direct from the hazard light switch using a fused-wire and both sides light up when permanent supply (purple) is connected to either left or right indicator, this does not blow the fuse. I then connected permanent live to the flasher supply and tried the indicator stalk ( with ignition on ), but no life from the flasher unit. I took the flasher relay off and pulled the outer case off and the electricals didn’t look too bad, a little sign of overheating and a bit of a smell.
I’ve ordered a new relay and a load more fuses, so I can do some more investigating soon. Is the flasher unit likely to be the cause or a symptom? I’m cack when it comes to electrical issues. In fact, I’m cack when it comes to most issues.
Any advice appreciated!

Reet, I think the main issue is a fecked rear indicator assembly. I’ve put a new relay in so I’ve got some sort of temporary turn signals, but the hazards and indicators are doing all sorts of stupid stuff now. The hazards don’t work at all, if I switch them on the flasher relay goes mental but I get no outside lights, the indicators don’t work on their own - I need to switch the hazards ‘on’ and then I can indicate normally.
Doing my bloody nut in! Hopefully some new indicator units and a couple of extra earths will do the trick. I might even splash out and get a new hazard switch while I’m at it. I’ll pop that on before I do the engine mounts , and the turbo pipe, and the timing belt, and the...
Bloody things!
