Anybody out there had this on a 2003 Discovery 2 TD5. Fuse 8 for HRW and HFW and heated door mirrors blows immediately the HRW is switched on. It’s 30amp so it takes some fair current to blow it. I’ve no wiring diagram unfortunately. But any info greatly appreciated

F8(interior fusebox) has nothing to do with HFW only with HRW and mirrors but if it blows means there is a short to earth on the circuit. You need the diagrams + connector views and know how to use them to troubleshoot this

First of all unplug the HRW and mirrors one by one and if once the fuse doesnt blow the problem is with the heater element of the one unplugged last...if it blows with all unplugged then it becomes more complicated

Yes i know... No it's not

Not sure about that SF. I have one of those which I don't use anymore as I have a better kit but it definitely used to work on the D2 with a 10P engine. Mine had the bluetooth VCI and it also supported the 15P engine, WABCO SLABS, BCU and the SRS module. What I cannot confirm is if it supports ACE as I don't have that on my vehicle.

I've tried myself few multivehicle tools which had the D2 in the coverage list(Delphi included) and they "work" as long as you consider that if it connects to the ECUs, gives you some codes and data eventually lets you do some settings is enough but they give false codes and innacurate readings compared to dedicate D2 tool... the only accurate readings were from ABS, it definitely doesnt cover ACE so i'd not name them "compatibe" just for that

Fair enough SF. It's handy though as a multi-vehicle tool and never had any problems with it. But the scope of application on the D2 in my case was limited to ABS (read & erase), module self testing and live readings, which were spot on every time. Can't vouch for more than that with this tool but if you own or work on different vehicles and do not use OBD for complex stuff, it's a cheap alternative (assuming we're talking about clones ;)).

Did you make any progress on HRW fuse 8 blowing ?? As I have the same issue I'm of the opinion it may be the fuse box itself
No I haven’t actually. I keep putting it off in favour of things I can tackle. Although it’s got to that time of year when not having the rear heater will become annoying again

And no heated mirrors. I’ve pin tested every wire on the circuit as I have short to ground
But it’s not the wiring I suspect the fuse box as that’s the only thing left. I removed it to see if there was any signs of burned connections etc but it looked fine. I’m going to replace it next week to rule it out. I’ll let you know the outcome

Yea same here re the mirrors - will be interested to hear if changing the box sorts it. Electrics are not my strong point so struggling with this one!

I’m not to bad with Electrics as I was motor technician 30 years ago lol so a few things have changed since. Things are so fiddly and complicated these days and turns repairs into an expensive guessing game.
I’ve also got an ACE fault to .
