Hi - we are relatively new owners of a 2011 RR Vogue, 4.4litre diesel. Its a great car, except we have noticed a fumes smell when we come to a stop after a bit of a drive. Smells toxic/diesel/burning - or the type of smell you get if cycling behind a large bus/truck. We can stop the smell by switching the aircon to only circulate inside instead of having it on auto or from outside to in, but sometimes I cant switch quick enough and we get fumed out (and have 2 young kids under the age of 2 so its not good at all). At first I thought it was other people's vehicles' fumes coming into our cabin via the AC but it also happens when we just pull into our drive and sit there for a bit. Any ideas?

Sounding like there's an exhaust leak under the bonnet somewhere and it's drawing it in through the scuttle vents.
I'd be getting it to your local exhaust place and get them to have a look.

Have you checked that the fuel burning heater is not running, these fumes can get drawn in and smell awful.

Thanks - will get these checked. It’s not all the time just now and then when we come to a stop. Also driving this morning the “restricted performance” warning came on.....brilliant!

Mine has been doing it for a little while, turns out that my cam covers are leaking oil onto the exhaust headers - might be worth a check?

On this one it went back to the garage several times after they replaced one part then another. Finally the issue seemed to be resolved by replacing the engine seals? I still get an oily whiff occasionally when I come to a stop though.
