hey all,

when filling up the defender 1997, 130, should the pump automaticly cut off when it sense that the tank is full as it is stream out petrol on to my blue suede shoes....

is the normal or should be a sensor in the fuel thank or filler nozzle.

i can imagin this is a silly question...

havent you been to filling station before,its the nozzle that cuts off when theres the slightest back pressure as when nozzle imersed in fuel

Faulty pump if it kept going as fuel spilled out

Not unusual if you're filling quickly for some fuel to 'back splash' - best to release pressure on pump nozzle as tank nears full!

Make sure you dont select fast delivery which is meant for HGVs. They dont shut off as easily.
