i've got to replace my fuel sender unit because it has died , anyway i was wondering if there is any way to wire up a low fuel warning light to my 1975 series 3 or if any sender units come fitted with this super luxury item
My local; Bearmach dealer sold me a tank sender unit for my S2. It had terminals for a low fuel warning light. Not available without these terminals. About £20 I think.
Warning, I think the sender has to be compatible with the guage....damped or undamped.
You need a diesel sender unit, it has an extra terminal for the low fuel light.
As w3526602 suggests, I think you will have trouble finding a petrol one now anyway. If you are using the standard gauge I think the damped/undamped gauge is a red herring.
Yeah, it might be a red herring. I believe the gubbins inside the dial is different, damped/undamped. Don't know about the sender. Best to ask someone who knows before spending money.
