Hi all,
Was driving this weekend in very dusty conditions (Discovery 2, V8). Engine kept cutting out and would only restart at full throttle, as soon as I took my foot off the engine would cut out. Luckily we were going up hill!
A hissing noise was coming from around the petrol tank, when I released the fuel cap it sucked in a lot of air for a long time, then it started and ran normally again. I figured a breather for the tank must be blocked. I loosened the fuel cap and drove home with no problems. Can anyone tell me where the tank breathers are? There are two holes either side of the filler spout which look like they could be for air. Does the tank breathe through the cap?
Thanks,
Dave
