Just a quick update on a problem I had with the discovery cutting out on a quarter tank.
Previously I had fitted a secondhand pump which works fine. After removing pump and actually engaging my brain it turns out the float arm had an angle of around 75 degrees rather than 90 like is shown on photos I found. So the tank was empty but reading 1/4 full. I should have paid attention when swapping them over.
I did check the part numbers which were the same but there we go. The arm didn't look like it had been altered either.
So bent back, filled up and a new fuel filter and it's running fine. Just taken me to Paris and back.
I'm sure this is not news for some but it could help someone. Thank you to Biolandy and Gemsdad for your help.
