can anybody tel me if i have to remove the timing cover to remover the fuel pump for checking or can you remove the front plat of the pump and take the pump gear off leaving the timing gear alone.

thanks do i need to put a 9mm pin to hold the gear cog in the timing position to hold the cog in place

are we talking about front cover and belt still on ??? or all off ??

With covers on ---u need the tool to hold it all into place with the belt still on .

cover and belt off - then like above , 3 bolts off the pulley - not the middle one . :)

erm, fuel lift pump or injection pump?
fuel lift pump (small, cam driven) is several inches behind injection pump (big, belt driven), or did I get something wrong?

I was just asking. I'd like to be present though when he expects to take out the lift pump and has the injection pump in hand... Me + chair + beer in short distance.
