Could anyone tell me if your on a TD4 52 plate freelander is the fuel light supposed to flash or anything when you get low on fuel or do you just run out ?

There is a guage on the right hand side of the instrument panel. When the pointer nears the red add some juice. :)

Yes I have seen this gauge thing that you mention, but I can't find anything in the handbook saying that your fuel light will flash when you get low on fuel and like most modern cars you will have about a gallon or so of fuel to get you to a garage to fill up.
Or is this part of the fun side of things owning a Freelander?

There is no fuel light, but the guage is accurate and when the pointer enters / is over the red section about 8 litres remains.

Is this true? I thought I saw a warning on the gauge once on td4 so checked Rave. Attached is what it says. Are my eyes on the blink or what :)

Hi ming, sorry chas01,

Here a picture of my dash, the little light having the yellow arrow pointing at lights up when low on fuel. However it is not recommended to drive a car that this light comes up as you risk to have the pump suck up dirt or so.
