Hi everybody, 2 of the injectors are leaking on my 3.5 V8 EFI, the leak coming from the side of the rubber hose that connects the injector to the fuel rail, is the rubber hose a seperate part or does the whole injector need replacing?

Hello Stuart,

Not knowing the year of your car or the injection system is a problem, so I hope this is helpful.

You need to check if the leak is coming from either the top of the hose in which case you should be able to tighten the hose clip or the botton in which case the swaged joint is knackered.

It's entirely possible to replace the hose but it involves cutting off the metal swage that retains the pipe to the injector.

A full description of the process can be found from page 6 of the PDF to be found on this link:

Rover SD1 Efi Fuel Injector and Power Resistor Pack.

It is highly unlikely that this job could ever be done with the injector in situ, in which case you may want to read the whole article to see whether the other injector maintenance suggestions are appropriate to your system. ie filter replacement, pintle replacement and home-brew cleaning.

The site index covers many other aspects of the Rover SD1 Efi flapper system some of which might be useful to you.
