Hello everybody it been a while,
I've got a 1989 90 with a fuel gauge which has a mind of its own. It fine when it full of fuel but when it get a bit empty the gauge goes full to empty when turn or braking. Is this common and if so is there a fix, the sender unit is working fine.
Looking forward to your replies on fixing this problem
Cheers

How do you know the sender is working fine?

Mine's exactly the same, the gauge is all over the place but the fuel light works fine, I believe it's either an earthing problem with the gauge or the gauge itself. I've just put it down to a Defender trait that I'll sort when everything else is fixed :D

Fair enough - mine was all over the place too -got a new sender and putting a electric meter across it, the old one is jumping around all over everywhere and the new one is perfect - resistance goes up/down correctly as I move the float.

Granted I haven't tested it on the guage yet - landy is still being rebuilt, but I'm hopeful that it will work correctly again.
