Filled up both tanks (ex mil 109) the other day. Now tanks are half empty the fuel gauge still shows full!

I checked the floats - switched them between tanks - raised and lowered them, but makes no difference.

Does anyone know where the voltage stabiliser is hidden? Vehicle is 12v by the way.
 
Attached to the rear of the instrument binacle on the LHS. Make sure you dont loose the clamping screw coz its a bit of a bugger to remove.
 
Try disconnecting the senders, one at a time, if the gauge drops you know which one is at fault, (switch in the correct position) if you have disconnected both and the gauge is still reading full the wire from the rear of the gauge to the changeover switch must be shorting out. Disconnect this wire from the gauge to prove this. The voltage stabiliser is probably not at fault here.
