Seems a bit low to me, maybe fuel gauge reads low and you are only using 45 ltrs before the gauge tells you to fill up. That would be about 28 to gallon which is about right.

Drained 5 galls out of mine recently and it was reading almost empty:)

Depends when they were made. Early 90s with a side mounted tank only held 45 litres. Was increased to 60 with the introduction of the td5. I was just looking at the figures in my Haynes manual there but they're wrong, I looked into it a while ago. My tank is certainly only 45 litres

Just googled it :cool::cool: and its says 54.5 litres or 12 gallons, I get about 300 miles from the 200 tdi or there abouts so assuming 2 galls left when nearly empty that would be right (10 galls 280 miles or so)

A 92j? Are you sure about that? And the fuel tank was mounted there until the td5 came in so I wouldn't worry. I get between 250 and 300 miles on a tank, last time I checked anyway. Most of my driving is town and motorway. Bear in mind that fuel consumption is affected by a lot of things, not just where you drive

Pretty certain bigger than 10 gal as its got the extra sticky out bit compared to a series tank which is ten gallon.
Mine does approx 200 before I feel the need to refill, but larger tyres and optomistic speedo means its lying!
I would hazard a guess at anywhere between 25 and 30 mpg is right for a 200 and as the models got newer the mpg got worse.

It's a 1992 on a j plate

Just put £70 of fuel in mine and it's done 330 miles to the light coming on.

This is a big improvement since I replaced the leaky lift pump!
