pleasantly pleased with my first set of consumption figures. 27mpg out of my 1.8 petrol. what do you tend to get on a regular basis? Diesel or Petrol?

i tend to drive my FL like a diesel, short revs and not much over 60mph. average daily trip is 17-20miles from town to country.

Currently averaging 38mpg from my td4 on my daily commute of 70 miles. Mixture of roads from town to short stretch on motorway.

Same as you apart from I do 30 miles a day to and from work.
Never rev it over 3k until it's warm and take it steady.

My 1.8 does 31 mpg on a 46 mile round trip commute generally in traffic doing around 50 mph (if I am lucky ) and a bit of in town driving at the end. I think thats good considering the weight of the car although its only done around 45k on its replacement engine (a new engine rather than just a replacement) so I guess that helps :)

I know my TD4 does more but I have never measured it accurately like I have with the 1.8

Nice mileage matey:)

My 2002 TD4 has done over 110,000 miles and returned 35mpg on the first full tank of fuel. I have only owned it for about a month and still trying to iron out a few little problems but it seems to run well enough. I am sure it will be even better on a long run.

18mpg normal around local roads. 28mpg on a motorway at a constant steady 60mph. It's a v6.

I get around 39 MPG out of my 99 L series XEDi..

I brimmed the tank then ran it down as far as i dared to until chickening out and going to the petrol station. I got 508 miles of a tank. The manual says its got a 13 gallon tank, so 508 / 13 = 39MPG!!

My daily commute to work and back is mostly dual carrageway, then about 2 miles of city driving at the end totalling 36 miles on a round trip. Also do a few miles in the evening going up to local stables to tend to horses, or take kids to and from school (depending on my shift).

Like others have said, i rarely go above 2500 rpm, and dont go any quicker than about 65mph..

WELL happy with my hippos fuel economy considering it weighs in near enough 2 tons and is 4wd. My wife has a 57 plate scenic 1.5 dci. It weighs **** all, is built from plastic, and she only gets 46mpg out of that!! :D

My mate has a TD4 with the proshaft removed and he reckons hes getting about 44mpg out of it!!???

My dirdy ole tratter when it had the 19j engine in done 15-20 20@very best.
Dunno how much me 200tdi does yet only achieved 55 miles in it so far.
Them maestro vans are not bad on the old fuel:D :boink:

I get 40-44 mpg from my td4, 67k and remapped.

I run it on BP ultimate diesel and stick millers in once a tank.

Quite pleased with that, the higher miles is when i do mostly motorway driving, lower is a mixture of local and motorways.

Thats an interesting point, i'd not thought aboout the milometer being out.
I know speedo is slightly off, cos when i go through Harley theres one of them speed signs and its shows about 3-4 mph less than my speedo.

Td4 mixed driving and a lot at 70 mph honest officer - 34mpg

And that's with an injector flagging as I found out today so I have replaced it and looking forward to an improvement - I will keep you posted.

Other mods - EGR bypass Synergy 2, crankcase breather BMW mod

Number 2 by any chance? My TD4 has an iffy #2 injector, its been present since i bought the car with 37k, it flows different to the others hense the better fuel and millers to give it a hand as they are expensive to replace.

Would misfueling be to blame as i had the high pressure fuel pump die when i bought it as well, and 37k is a low mileage for it to pack up......

Yup, I'm getting over 40mpg all the time now. :)

Must be the Tesco 2-stroke oil that's doing it. :D

Haven't been on any motorways recently - the nearest one's over 100 miles away. :(

im getting ( on long runs usually an hr at a time averaging 50mph ish) 29-31 with tools in the back - swb van..

Just done our first calculation after a month of Laura driving the Td4 everyday for work. Mixed useage, some town and stop - start and some motorway miles.
Came back at 38 MPG so pretty pleased with that. Much better than the Golf GTi we replaced with it.
