simple question. whats the easiest way to check if the fuel pump is working or if theres fuel getting to the engine?

i havent had the truck long. i cant remember if you hear the pump prep when you turn the key or if its just silent cuz mine is dead silent. cranks fine but theres no pop. checked for spark cuz i thought it was the coil. spark seems fine right to the spark plugs. so now im guessing it might be the fuel pump.

i know it could be a simple thing to try but im in NY and theres close to a foot of snow outside and id like to be in and out as quick as possible without trying to finger around to see whats what.

I know that the pump is silent a few seconds after switching on the ignition and untill the engine is cranking and the ecu tells it to pump.
On the fuel rail there's a pressure testing valve looks similar to a tyre valve so if you release that and fuel leaks under pressure then fuel is getting that far.

Other than that, isolate the pump electrical connections and provide an independant supply to see if the pump is operational.

I hope this helps..

it does help. its too late to check now but thats alot easier than looking for the filter, cracking open one side of it, and then cranking the engine and see if fuel comes out.

all the fuses are fine but i didnt check the relays. is there a relay for the pump on these vehicles?
