Hello,

I have a Disco 4 / LR4 SDV6. Have a FBH installed on it but do not have an option on the screen to enable it or set a timer.
I understand that the screen can be programmed to enable the timer option for the car.

Is it possible to put in a physical switch to switch on and off the FBH. Just a simple ON/OFF switch?

Thanks you.

Hi, it's definitely possible but you must be very skilled with electronics to DIY, any webasto service can do it, even with remote but it's not cheap cos it needs a kit like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255981555844?hash=item3b99b09084:g:Ko0AAOSwYl5j6dhe ... it's possible to bodge it up too with a switch but i dont recommend that, a cheaper option is that https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/discovery-4-timed-climate-activation/ if your's is within that MY range

hi mate

Out of interest and know it’s different on the D4 but have u seen these off eBay plse , bought the kit a while back, also bought a better one off the D3 forum, allows me to use the remotes 3rd button

know many also buy the Altox controller systems

Hi, i had similar remote on the D2 which has thermo top C so it's simple but a friend of mine tried such thing on a D4 and didnt succeed then bit the bullet and bought the expensive kit...though it's possible that he didnt know exactly what to do

My car is Discovery 4 / L319
Model year: 2011
Build date: 20-Aug-2011

Can I not just get a remote key fob to switch on and off the FBH as shown on many of the YouTube videos.
According to them all I will need to do is program the fob and the FBH should just work.

Why dont you try?

Does any one know where is the controller / circuit for the FHB is located on the Disco 4 / L319?
The FBH controller is part of the unit(nr 9), it's controlled by the vehicle's related electronics via CAN-bus but your vehicle has it only if the VIN is from 581077 onwards (last six digits)

hi

wonder if it didn’t work due to the different canbus speed between the D3 and D4

Did some digging around and found this part number -

LR027493 - REMOTE FOR FUEL FIRED PRE-HEATER FOR RANGE ROVER L322 (06-12), SPORT (09-13) AND EVOQUE MK 1 - DISCOVERY 4, DISCOVERY SPORT AND FREELANDER 2

Apparently if you have a factory fitted FBH, all you need is this FOB and may be the timer option to be enabled on the screen.

Time to get one and try :)

Do you have the receiver installed in the OSR of the vehicle?
Just having a FBH doesn't mean you will have the receiver.
