Morning,

May I please ask for some advice. The passenger side from window dropped to the bottom of the door and at the moment stuck fast down though it tries to go up. But not enough to get to the window lift channel which is perfect. Not sure if it's the motor or the regulator because it sounds like missing teeth when I lower it the maximum amount now, about half inch only. It starts to jump if you get my drift. But just will not go up. Seems as though trapped but where I can't tell. It's in the door channel and looks okay there.
So please tell how the hell do I get the window up,enough to get to the screws in the window lift channel ?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.....Graham

Failure of the regulator is a fairly common issue, if its not that in your vehicle then it’s something related to it.
It seems you haven’t look inside the door yet ?

Thanks, but yes I've looked in the door. That's how I know the window lift channel is perfect. No rust and lots of grease. The glass still sits in the window channels each side. Managed to get the motor running a little but looking like the teeth on either the reg or the motor. Until I get the window up a little I can't get the glass off the lift channel it's too far down to get a spanner on the bolts. Or should I say can't get the lift channel bolts off the reg. But I'll get there somehow !
Thanks anyway.

Thanks but it won't move. Stuck fast that's the problem at the moment. If I could get it moving I'd be fine.
Again thank you.

If the regulator is still attached to the motor you wont be able to move the glass up unless the motor is disconnected, then the glass and the regulator will raise to its closed position, then u reconnect the motor, after operating the drive cog in to the correct raised position, I assume at present the drive cog its still in the glass lowered position.

@discool , this is very similar to the problem I had. And there is a way around it.
@Maurand, you need to take off the six bolts that attach the winding mechanism to the frame and the window, I have done this and put a thread, with pics, up about it.
I will find it and put a link to it. but basically once you start freeing off the bolts it gets easier to move the glass and get to the last two.
You may find that the bolts holding the motor to the mechanism have come loose and the drive to the mechanism it slipping, but I'll put the link up and you can repost or message me.

I have had a look for the other one but things move so fast on here I cannot find it easily, so I will have a search and when found will post.
It is the bolt on the front of the frame under the window that is the hardest one to get at. You may have to do it by touch, but it is doable.

Thank you all for advice, a little (quiet a lot in fact) bit of brute force with two bits of wood and my wife operating the window switch it's come up. It seems as though it dropped too far into the door. Why I don't know and what caused it or what the damage is to reg and motor will have to wait. Big bit of wood in the door bottom till I get round to it.
Again thank you....
Graham
