Hi everyone,

My I'm having fun this weekend with both Range rovers!

The 4.6 this time.

I have changed the front suspension airbags as they were worn out to the cords.

All went well and when I went out this morning the front left corner was on its bump stop!

Been out all day and just checked around the pipe with soapy water and its bubbling around the connector.

Removed the pipe checked it and all seemed fine. Took the collar from the bag and it was sticking at the point the old collet seated. Moved it to and fro:eek: until the collar moved up the pipe to the stop. Re inserted and still leaking air but not so much.

2 Questions.

1) will it seal itself?

2) Can I use something like a silicone grease on the pipe to make the seal?

I think its weeping past the seal in the top of the air bag itself. So really cant think what else to do.

Thanks

Ray

Ray, Remove the pipe & chop off a couple on MM I did mine only to find it didn't "SEAT" properly ... RAVE suggests you "Trim" the end by a couple of MM & then you'll get a much better seal/seat ect

Keith

Cheers Keith. I was wondering if you could do that. I've just downloaded Rave but was looking at the wiring diagrams to try and sort the DSE out.

I'll have a dabble in the morning and see what happens!:5bcheers2:

Hi Ray

Just checked RAVE .. Section 60 / Repair / Page 4 "Leaks caused by "Pipe Scoring" may be recified by TRIMMING assuming there is sufficient length of STRAIGHT pipe" also a slight "Shampher" may be applied using "A PENCIL SHARPNER" (of ALL things!!!!) to aid sealing of collett rings

WELL BUGGER ME OLD BOOTS!!!!

Thats brilliant. Thanks!

As for buggering your boots! I'll pass if you dont mind but I may buy you a beer if we ever meet :D
