I am ment to be buying a new front propshaft tomorrow but have just noticed the td5 auto has a different front prop, looking at this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROV...OPSHAFT-DOUBLE-CARDAN-TVB000110-/121365803718 it says for manual only, so i looked for an auto version and got this part number SKU: TVB000220 but they all seem to be over 300 quid when the manual one is 150, though on an ebay ad for a tested used one its says for both manual and auto?

can anyone shed any light on this please, i am getting a lift tomorrow to buy one from LR Trade in Selby at 9am and then onto my landy at my yard, i cant afford one at those prices but 150 i can scrape together.
what to do and whats the difference?

i dont know the difference but 1 prop seems to fit all models
well the more i dig the more it looks like the superceeded part number TVB000110 fits all disco 2, from what i can find the autos front prop was heavy duty and the manual version wasnt, now they are all the same, i copied this from a website

"A replacement heavy duty front double cardan prop-shaft with greaseable universal joints and slider for all Discovery 2 models.

This is the heavy duty version as originally fitted to automatic models but also fits manual models too.
Comes complete with 8 new nuts for refitting.

A quality replacement part, equivalent to Land Rover part number: TVB000110

Suitable for the following models:
Land Rover: Discovery 2, All Models, 1998-2004"

My 2000 auto V8's front prop's rear UJ collapsed in a very bad way a few weeks ago. I looked for a replacement just as you have. I ended up getting a used one, no idea what it came from auto or manual but it was identical to the one that came off mine, so it seems they are all the same.

Well I will have to bite the bullet and buy it, if it turns out it's different I just won't fit it and get a refund but as you say it seems they have all become the same part.
