Hi, I have a 1986 110 hardtop and recently it started vibrating. I was advised to check prop shaft phasing - that the yokes at each end should align. The rear ones did, but the slider was worn, so I had that and both crosses replaced.
While this was being done, I checked the front shaft - it was out by about 2 splines, so I re-aligned it, thinking that the last owner must have been a bit careless! Naturally, thinking the shaft was badly aligned, I didn't mark it.
Then I was told by a friend that the front shaft was supposed to be like that!
Can anyone tell me if this is so?
If so, by how many splines should they be out of alignment?
Also, which way to turn the male yoke relative to the female yoke?
Help!
