About a year ago I fitted a Salisbury front axle which I believe may have come off a snatch Defender. A front prop was provided in the package all looked fairly new or very lowish mileage. I tried fitting the new prop but it was about 2 cm too short. My original prop was also about 2cm too short. Another prop was sent which fits and appears to be the right length but I noticed there wasn't a joint on the prop which would allow the prop to extend or shorted which I presume is for when the axle travels over large bumps etc.
I would like to fit the prop that came with the package. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a spacer that would fit inbetween which would give it the extra length required. My Landy guy over here said the prop that was provided with the package came off a V8.
My Defender is a original 1990, 200tdi, 110, ex-military. It was a pre production one which was given to the French to try out. Everything else on it is standard.

unusual for prop to have no sliding joint are you sure ,you can get spacers of different thicknesses, the original prop that fits salisbury front were for v8 so will fit 300 tdi but 200 tdi transmission sits further back by 2 inches than v8 or 300 tdi

Any idea where you can get the spacers from?

i wasnt saying buy that one ,though you could get one for each end but they do come in different sizes

Thanks, I will give them a call in the morning. Unfortunately I haven't got my Defender here. Its at my friends house so I can't measure it all up.
