As per title , the window is now about 3 inches down and i don't want to make it go down any further because it won't go up.

Also I dont hear a sound when i press the up button on the center console

is it possible that the motor could go bad in one direction only?

Probably a small piece of plastic that is broken.
You will have to change all the cables, and the plastic parts ...

So don't waste your time, change the full mechanism.
