Killing two birds with one post:
The front interior light needs a non-switched earth to function as a stand alone light, but when folks take out the headlining, the important earth connection is forgotten about as there are a few odd connections not used in the loom, such as sunroof controls etc.
The front interior light bolts to a small metal frame through the headlining. There is a single black earth connection with a shielded lucar female connector, that goes to that metal frame which has a formed tag on it, but you cannot see it once the headlining is up in place, so it has to go on BEFORE the headlining is in place.
There is also another connector there with two wires, a black and black/green, don't use those, I think they are the illumination feed for the electric sunroof controls.
The illuminated sunvisor vanity mirror feed is a separate little loom that is taped up to the loom that runs across from the centre to the left side. With the headlining down you can cut the tape and turn it back to the access hole for the wiring that comes through in the centre of the three fixing screws.
Hope this helps someone.
I've got my headlining down today to get the sunroof mechanism replaced after mine got damaged in the storms. Glass is OK, just the alloy carrier part got fractured.
