Got bit of a front end knock on my FL something is loose or a bush is worn somewhere as it knocks when on bumpy back roads but is fine when on smooth main roads. Going to get my brother to have a look at it up on the ramp tomorrow but just wondered if there are any common causes for this just to give us a head start ?

Just to save a bit of time really as he is doing it in his lunch hour.

I am probably thinking ARB link or D bush ?

i have the samer thing on mine, it is usually the ARB bushes, getting mine done when they can fit me in at the garage.

Seems all the ARB bushes and links are fine but the dog bone shape bracket to the right of the IRD is nackered thus causing knocking I suspect which would kind of make sense as it knocks when either wheel hits a manhole cover but does sound more driver side which is where this is !

Anybody else had theres fail ?

I thought my drop links were OK even though I was getting a knocking noise on rough roads. It wasn't till I read on here that you can only test for play in the drop links with the wheel on the ground that I found the problem

I got a pry bar in and levered the end of the anti roll bar where it attaches to the drop link (with the wheel on the ground taking the weight of the car) this showed some play in the ball jointed end of the link, once removed the ball joint was loose in the socket.
