Dear All
I am new to the forum and this is my first post, if I do not anything wrong I apologise now.
My wife has a freelander 1 TD4 HSE on a late 2004 plate. The car was suffering front a knocking on the front end when going on uneven ground, it started to progressively getting worse.
I decided to try and solve the problem, on inspection via putting it up on ramps I could not find any obvious signs, I.e. Worn bushes, ball joints etc. I decided to give the front end a bit of an overhaul, I have replaced the anti roll bar bushes, drop arm links and both wishbones including lower ball joints. Whilst doing this the front cross member was taken off and the anti roll bar to give them a good clean and paint.
Everything is now back together, wheels on and it was taken for attest drive. The front end feels tighter but the knocking is still there but only on the right hand side it would appear.
I will re-tighten all bolts again in the morning now it's off the axle stands as I have read that once the car is under its own load some of the bolts can free up so I presume this May be one potential cause.
If this does not solve it, does anyone have any idea what the problem could be, are there common mistakes people make whilst doing this or could it be something else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is starting to stress me out apart from the additional fact of the wife wringing when she can have her car back.
Thanks again in advance
