Hi i have a p38 1999 and the front doors wont lock or unlock with fob also tailgate not locking or unlocking there were working fine back doors work fine:confused::confused:

It is my understanding the Front Doors and the Rear Doors work off of different fuses and likewise the Tail Gate.....

I think the Rears ar on Fuse 14, the Fronts on Fuse 9 or 22 and the Tailgate on Fuse 15....give'em a check yer never know.....

If that checks out, the Locking is controlled by that nasty beast of a BeCM...so it may well pay to get it on a Diagnostic Machine and check the parameters...

Just checked fuse"s all ok

Just went to it and tryed the key in drivers door lock and it locks all doors bar pass front door and even locks tailgate and unlocks tailgate

Seems like you have an issue with the Passenger front....

Have a willing assistant work the key in the Driver door lock, whilst you sit inside the passanger side and listen to hear if you can hear the lock motor whirring inside the passanger door....if you can then you know it is a busted linkage, if not, time to take the door card off and look at the electrical connection for signs of corrsion.

If the connector is clean and also if you can use a multimeter to check for power going to the connector when the locks are engaged....if all that checks out, it points to a new locking mechanism....

There is a member on here who has just fixed his handle/lock problem called enery8...if he picks up this post, he made be able to shed more light on it....also the Wammer is very clued on this too, so maybe he can provide more detailed troubleshooting than I.
