Whilst changing the Air Con belt, I noticed the two bolts are missing from below the front bumper. Does anybody know the exact size? so that I can get some from the tool store tomorrow I'm thinking that they might be 9mm as I tried 8 and 10 mm bolts. Am I right in thinking that 9mm is an odd size?

I replaced mine on the rear bumper with some M10 stainless steel flange head bolts from eBay.

Mine were so corroded I had to drill and cut them out, it was a nightmare. I ended up having to replace one of the bumper mounts too.

I'm hoping the stainless will help if I ever need to remove them in the future, plus they're cheap and hex head, so you don't need the Torx socket to fit them!

+1 on stainless I try and change as many as I can if I take things apart as I have a nice collection of stainless nuts bolts& washers

Please be aware that standard stainless bolts are nothing like as strong as alloy steel bolts and will not take the torque load or be a strong in tension and shear as the equivalent bolt made from alloy steel. Most fasteners used on cars are at least 8-8 alloy steel. Standard stainless does not meet this spec. So don't fit them in stress areas.

I only use the stainless on none stress items wouldn't dream off using then on important areas ,most of my bolts are 8.8 stainless came from dennis buses
